A look inside the design process

A breakdown of the design process of the first Ingenuity baby plush toy collection

  • STEP 1: TREND RESEARCH & CHARACTER SELECTION

    The team researched trends within the plush toy baby space and decided on the best animals to include in the collection.

  • STEP 2: COLOR, MATERIAL & PATTERN DEVELOPMENT

    Each character had a signature color palette and print created to be used across all toy applications for consistent storytelling.

  • STEP 3: DIGITAL CAD SKETCHES

    At this step in the process we sketch our ideas for each of the 7 toy categories. Then we review, make any tweaks and then we make our selections to move onto the sampling stage.

  • STEP 4: REVIEW SAMPLES & MAKE FINAL ADJUSTMENTS

    We review production samples for color, material and design execution. We make any final notes, adds or drops then submit final production files.

  • STEP 5: PRODUCT LAUNCH

    The entire final collection is mass produced overseas and is shipped worldwide to retailers like Target, Amazon & Walmart.
